JANUARY 2009

Where has this month gone? I can't believe it is almost the end of the month already! I have been spending way too much time on Facebook lately! : )

January has been rather uneventful for our family. Brent has spent most of the month on the road, so the girls and I have been left home alone to hold down the fort. We have been staying busy with school and church, swimming lessons, and this last week, we battled a case of the stomach flu. Both girls were under the weather, but they have finally recovered. Thankfully, I did not catch it. I don't know what I would have done with 2 sick children and no husband!

Brent is the one having all the adventures, although he might not classify them as such...at least not ones that he cares to remember anyway. He has had his fair share of breakdowns and mishaps this month. Just another sign from God...but what is God saying? It appears that He is yelling loudly, "It's time to move on...new career and new location...new calling and purpose in life." The only problem is we don't know where in the world or what in the world that would entail! We can't hear clearly where he is leading or how he desires us to serve Him, so we are just in listening mode. I know that God will reveal the answers in His own timing.

"As God's children, we are the recipients of lavish love--a love that motivates us to keep trusting even when we have no idea what God is doing."

~~Beth Moore~~

This month has been rather emotional for me. It is hard being a single mother, so to speak (minus the financial support of course). I have been struggling with feelings of inadequacy and insecurity this whole month. All lies from the devil, I know. On a good note, struggling through these things does bring me closer to my Savior. Without Him, I am nothing. He carries me through life every day. God has blessed me with the best friends that I could ever have. I am so thankful that I can laugh, cry, and even fall apart in the presence of my encouraging, loyal friends. Thank you, ladies, for never giving up on me and always supporting me! God is ALWAYS faithful and ALWAYS knows exactly what I need at all times. In fact, he has brought me through several issues within my own life this month just so that I was able to relate or help other women who were dealing with the same things! Trials are his way of teaching us...we gain wisdom and insight so that we can be tools in the healing of others' pain or suffering. I guess what 2 Corinithians says really is true:

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

REMEMBER: God is ALWAYS good. When you feel all alone or like nobody understands or cares, He is still there. He never changes.

"Little faith will bring your soul to heaven; great faith will bring heaven to your soul."

~~C.H. Spurgeon~~
